* These exercises give general guidance on the items to rate and possible ratings. Because single photographs cannot show the condition of the entire structure, some assumptions are required as to the extent of the deficiencies throughout the entire culvert. For detailed guidance and descriptions of the extent of the deficiencies, see the descriptions in each Inspection Item in the Culvert Management Manual.
